Direct lenders are shown separately from loan matching services. A published range is the provider's own figure. It is not a quotation, and it is not a promise that you will be approved.

Loan matching services
These services introduce you to a lender. The advertised range is not a loan they underwrite.
Crezu
Loan matching service — not the lender
The credit agreement, if one is made, is with a separate credit provider.

Estimate your personal loan repayments
Enter your own amount, rate and fees. The result is an illustration. It is not a lender quotation, and it is not the pre-agreement statement a credit provider must give you.
Understand the full cost of your loan
A lower monthly instalment can still cost more if the term, the fees or the credit life premium are higher. Compare the total you repay, not only the instalment.
A longer term can lower the instalment and raise the interest
Hypothetical illustration: R50 000 at 18% a year, with no initiation fee, no service fee and no credit life insurance. This is not a lender's quotation.
- 24 months
- R2 496.21 a month
- R9 908.92 interest over the term
- 72 months
- R1 140.39 a month
- R32 108.05 interest over the term
What sits in the total
- Amount borrowed. The cash you receive.
- Interest. The charge for the term, on the balance that remains.
- Initiation fee. Often charged once. Ask whether it is paid up front or added to the loan.
- Monthly service fee. A rand amount each month, on top of interest.
- Credit life insurance. Cover for events named in the policy. It is not the same on every agreement.
The lender's pre-agreement quotation is the authoritative breakdown. The National Credit Act and its regulations limit what a registered credit provider may charge. The limit depends on the agreement. National Credit Regulator
Credit life insurance
Credit life cover pays the credit provider if an insured event happens, such as death, disability or, on some policies, retrenchment. The events and the limits are in that policy. They are not the same for every loan.
A credit provider may require cover. Where the National Credit Act allows it, you can ask to use a qualifying policy of your own. The premium is a separate cost from interest and the monthly service fee. Confirm the premium, the waiting periods and what is excluded before you sign.
Types of loans
Personal loans
A set amount and a set term.
Short-term loans
A short contract. The fee can be a large share of a small amount.
Emergency loans
A once-off cost. Speed does not remove the total you repay.
Debt consolidation
One loan in place of several. A lower instalment can still cost more.
Bad credit loans
A weak credit record is not a promise of approval.
Student loans
NSFAS and a bank study loan are different products.
Before you borrow
Check the quotation
Ask for the total repayable, the interest rate, the initiation fee, the monthly service fee and the credit life premium. A page on this site is not that quotation.
Check the lender
Match the legal entity on the contract with the National Credit Regulator register. A brand name is not the same as a registration. FSCA authorisation does not replace an NCR registration for a credit agreement.
Check the risk
A missed debit order can be reported to a credit bureau. If repayments are already unaffordable, another loan can make that worse. A request to pay a private account, or to hand over a PIN, before any loan exists is a reason to stop.

How WiT Money compares lenders
Providers are ordered by name. A published amount or term is shown when it comes from the provider's own pages and belongs to the same product. A missing figure stays blank. It is not shown as zero, and it is not treated as the cheapest.
Interest rates on these loans are personalised. The page does not sort by rate, and it does not label a provider as best or cheapest. A name on the page is not an endorsement, and no provider is paying for a placement.
Registration numbers are not shown as verified. Check the legal entity on the National Credit Regulator register. Information was last checked on 28 October 2026.
Questions readers ask
What is a personal loan?
A personal loan is a credit agreement for a set amount, repaid in instalments over a set term. When it is unsecured, the lender does not take your house or car as security. The cost includes interest and the fees in the quotation, not only the advertised rate.
How much can I borrow?
Each lender publishes its own minimum and maximum. The amount you can borrow depends on an affordability assessment. WiT Money cannot tell you a personal limit.
How are personal loan interest rates determined?
The credit provider sets the rate after it looks at the agreement and your application. A published “from” rate is not the rate you will be offered.
What fees can a South African lender charge?
A quotation under the National Credit Act can include interest, an initiation fee, a monthly service fee and credit life insurance. The lawful amounts depend on the type of agreement and the date. Read the quotation. WiT Money does not print a single rand cap for every loan.
What is the total cost of credit?
It is the full amount you pay back, minus the amount you received, once interest, fees and required insurance are included. A lower interest rate with a large fee can cost more than a higher rate with a small fee.
How do credit checks work?
A credit provider may ask a credit bureau for your payment history and existing agreements. This page cannot run that enquiry, and a comparison is not a credit search.
Can I apply without a payslip?
Some providers accept another form of income evidence, such as bank statements. That does not remove the affordability assessment, and it does not mean a lender must approve you.
What is an affordability assessment?
Before granting credit, a registered credit provider must consider your income, living expenses and existing debt. A website filter is not that assessment.
Can I settle a personal loan early?
The National Credit Act gives consumers a route to settle a credit agreement early. Ask the credit provider for the settlement figure in writing before you pay or refinance.
What happens if I miss a repayment?
A missed debit order can lead to default charges within the law, a credit bureau listing, and, if the account stays in arrears, legal collection. Contact the credit provider early. If your agreements are already unaffordable, a registered debt counsellor can explain debt review. That is different from taking another loan.
How do I check whether a lender is registered?
Use the National Credit Regulator’s register and match the legal entity, not only the brand on an advert. WiT Money has not independently verified a registration number for the providers on this page.
Are loan-matching websites lenders?
No. A matching service introduces you to a credit provider. The credit agreement, if one is made, is with that provider. Read who receives your information before you apply.
