Secured borrowing
Compare Secured Loans in South Africa
A secured loan is borrowing backed by an asset, such as property or a vehicle. The lender may have rights over that asset if the borrower fails to meet the credit agreement.
Failure to repay a loan secured against a home or a vehicle may place that asset at risk, subject to the agreement and the legal process. These records are mortgage facilities for existing or private-bank clients, not a general offer of cash against any asset.

What this page actually lists
The facilities on this page are property-backed: FNB, Absa, Standard Bank and Nedbank readvances or further bonds, and Investec private property finance. They are not ordinary unsecured personal loans. Pawn and vehicle-title products are not included.
A readvance is available only to someone who already has a qualifying home loan. A further bond registers more debt against the property. Investec's facility is restricted to private-banking clients. None of these is open to every visitor.
Vehicle finance is a different security arrangement and is compared on the vehicle-finance page. Buying a home is compared on the home-loan page. This page is the further borrowing against property that is already, or will be, mortgaged.
Providers checked
Product details were checked on 28 October 2026. A name on a card is not a recommendation and not a quotation. The button opens the lender's homepage.
5 research records. A missing amount or term is not treated as zero or as unlimited. A product stays in the list when the figure you need was not published. Meeting a published threshold does not guarantee approval.

The asset pledged is not part of the arithmetic. If this balance is secured by a home, failure to pay can put that home at risk under the agreement and the legal process. The rate is the one you type, not a bank margin.
A lower rate is not the whole decision
The rate is personalised in every record on this page. A bond rate can be lower than an unsecured personal loan because of the security. The cost of being wrong is the asset.
Further-bond registration has legal fees. A readvance may not. Confirm which fee applies on the quotation.
Early settlement follows the credit agreement and, where it applies, the National Credit Act. This page does not calculate a settlement figure.
Default is about the asset
If a home-loan facility is not paid, the lender can follow the enforcement process in the agreement and in law. That process can end with the property being sold. A shortfall after the sale can still be owed.
Security does not remove the affordability assessment. The National Credit Act still requires one for the credit agreements it covers.
Consumer protection
A credit provider covered by the National Credit Act must assess affordability and give the pre-agreement disclosure for the agreement it offers. This comparison is not that quotation, and it does not approve a bond, a vehicle or a renovation.
NCR registration was not independently checked for any provider on this page, so no registration number is shown as verified. The contracting legal entity still has to be read off the quotation. That matters where a brand originates an application and another firm is the credit provider, as with Capitec Home Loans and SA Home Loans.
Complaints start with the lender. The National Credit Regulator publishes consumer-credit guidance. Information you enter on a lender's own site is handled by that lender under POPIA. WiT Money does not take an application on these pages.

How WiT Money compared these products
The comparison covers 27 products across vehicle finance, home loans, home-improvement borrowing and property-backed facilities, checked on 28 October 2026. Official product pages were the primary sources. Blank fees were left blank. Personalised rates are labelled personalised.
Toyota Financial Services, BMW Financial Services and a standalone SA Home Loans product were reviewed and are not listed as current products. MFC and WesBank keep their own names and logos rather than being shown as Nedbank or FNB. The default order is the lender's name, then the product. Nothing is sorted as cheapest or best.
No paid placement is active on the buttons. A listed homepage is not an application link invented by WiT Money.
Questions readers ask
What makes a loan secured?
An asset, or sometimes a surety, stands behind the agreement. In the records on this page the asset is residential property.
Is a personal loan a secured loan?
Not when nothing is pledged. Absa's home-improvement personal loan is kept on the renovation page and is not listed here as secured.
Can I use any car or title deed as collateral for cash?
No. This file does not support that claim. The facilities here are existing mortgage structures or private property finance, each with its own rules.
Who can apply for a readvance?
Someone who already has a qualifying home loan with that bank, and who passes a new assessment. It is not a product for a first-time applicant with no bond.
What happens if I cannot pay?
The lender may enforce its rights over the property, after the notices and process the agreement and the law require. You can also still owe a shortfall. Debt counselling is a separate legal process.
