Compare Share Trading Platforms in South Africa
Compare South African share trading platforms, brokerage fees, JSE and international market access, account features and custody arrangements. Understand the costs and risks before opening a trading account.
Prices can fall and you could lose money. Charges and account conditions vary by provider. Information is not personalised advice. Information checked 28 October 2026.
Before you compare
Owning a listed share is not the same as a contract for difference on that share. A card is included here only when this comparison lists share trading. A brokerage figure is shown only where the source marks an official tariff, and a zero applies only to the instruments that tariff names.
A market order generally seeks execution at prices then available. A limit order sets a maximum buy price or a minimum sell price, and it may not trade. Not every broker offers every order type.
Owning a share, through the broker's custody arrangement, is different from a contract for difference on that share. A CFD is a contract with the provider.
Compare providers
Each card uses the product published for this page. The provider name links to the WiT Money profile. The gold button opens the recorded website. It is not an application and it is not an order.
17 of 17 products, in provider name order. A fee that was not checked is not shown as a number, and nothing is sorted as cheapest.

Estimate the cost of a trade
Type your own brokerage. Product cards do not fill these fields. Leave a charge blank when you do not want it in the illustration. A blank is not a finding that the provider charges nothing.
Tax on a share transfer
The securities transfer tax rate stored on this site is 0.25%. It applies to a transfer that falls within the tax, not automatically to every ETF, fund, forex trade, crypto trade or CFD. Dividends tax, at 20% on a local dividend in the same tax file, and capital gains tax are separate from brokerage. This is not a calculation of your tax.
Regulation
An FSCA licence, where one applies, does not cover every instrument and it is not a promise that you will get your money back. The brand on a website may not be the legal entity that holds the account. Exchange membership is not the same as advice authorisation. No FSP number is printed on these cards. Check the entity on the FSCA register before you trade.
How WiT Money compares these products
Share accounts, forex contracts, crypto platforms and CFDs stay in their own lists. The fees page can show more than one instrument, and it says so when the selected rows are different products.
Nothing is sorted as cheapest or safest. The order is alphabetical. A listed name is not a recommendation. No provider is paying for a placement.
